My yard seems to be attractive to overwintering male (mature and immature) ruby throated humming birds. For years I supplemented native winter blooming plants with table sugar in feeders, last winter my neighbor convinced me to switch. There is a noticeable difference:)

I mixed a full feeder the first time I filled it because I had unrealistic expectations. After dumping it three days later I only filled it half way. Jup forward two weeks and now I only mix a cup at a time. I have a single ruby throat hummer that comes to drink. I'm hoping for more to show up soon but if I don't have more of a showing by the end of the mix I will not order again.

I also use rain water I collect in plastic tubs out in my yard. I live on the Oregon coast, so I'm blessed with plenty of rain water ( don't collect roof run off rain water)! Drawing in many and various hummingbirds, this is the only food they will eat.

I have used this hummingbird food many times. I love that it takes just warm water to dissolve the nectar so I can get the feeders filled and outside quickly. I have usually 10 to 12 birds feeding at once and only 2 feeders. Probably time to invest in 3rd feeder. Would highly recommend this product.

I am happy with the product, but very unhappy with the fact that it was shipped in a mail pouch package that was nearly the exact same size as the product. This meant that the seams burst during shipment which I learned when I opened it up only to have about a cup of the very expensive product spill into my wet sink. PLEASE ship in a box!! Thank you!
